What Is Food Supposed To Do For Me?

What is food supposed to do for me? This may seem like a silly question, but you would be amazed at the responses to this question. It is very important that we understand the purpose of eating food. We have been brought up to be rewarded with food. It starts when we are infants. As a child, if you were good, you might get ice cream. We are trained to think that it is ok to reward ourselves with food. And this can actually be great, but only if it is real food. Eating bad food is actually not a reward, but rather a punishment in the sense that it is bad for you and negatively affects your body and mind. Did you ever think of it that way? I have had people tell me that I ate weird food. So if eating fresh, organic leafy greens is weird, I wonder what isn’t weird. Eating a good ol’ American hot dog is not weird? I am not knockin’ the classic hotdog. I get it and I have had my share of hot dogs! But have you thought about what is in it. Now that is some weird stuff. It is so weird, that you cannot even pronounce most of it.

So what is the answer to the question: What is food supposed to do for me? It is to receive the most nutrients possible for optimal bodily functions and overall good health.

Take time to think about how you want to feel. I don’t know anyone that says they want to feel bad. Just like anything else, to feel good you have to do good things. It really is simple. But, it can be tough too. Set your intentions then act that way. I did not get to where I am overnight. It took time. Time to learn, understand and, with intention, have an awesome lifestyle that makes me feel good!
